Fraud Call from Corel India (corelindia.co.in)

Hi there, I'm Mohit and I do not use any of the CorelDraw products professionally or personally, however, I got a call from Corel India from number +91-22-40586529, a person named Sarita Singh, claiming that I or my team are using CorelDraw software without a valid license. Even after I mentioned that we DO NOT use any of the Coral products, they threatened me that they will take certain actions which I may not like.

Following this, I got an email from them:

Dear Sir,

Greetings from Corel Corporation!!!  

My name is Sarita Singh, representative of Corel Corporation in India, as part of compliance team that deals with software legalisation of Corel products used in India.

Corel Corporation is a leading software developer based out of Canada with major offices in United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Taiwan, China and Japan. Corel is copyright owner of various products including but not limited to CorelDRAW Graphic Suite, Painter, Particle Shop, CorelDRAW Technical Suite, Paint Shop Pro, Video Studio, PDF Fusion, WordPerfect Office, WinZip etc.

 This mail is with regards to the installations / instances of propriety software of Corel Corporation installed / used in your organization. We seek your kind co-operation to help us with the license details of CorelDRAW Graphic Suite software you have procured in the past along with serial keys & invoice details. Technically each installation/instance must be backed with lawfully acquired right to use for each product/s as per Corel’s licensing policy.

 Your revert will also help us to validate your Genuine Licenses procured and address the gap in terms of licenses. As you may experience Genuine License do boost over productivity also provides access to technical support team to solve your queries. It mitigates risk on your business, which is responsible towards your customers. The use and installation of legal software tends to be easier and less risky regarding the IT security & you act in accordance with law.

 We therefore request your support to get licenses regularized

Please help me and if it is a fraud, which seems to be, as I can see previously lodged cyber complaints about fake recruitments and fake threat calls similar to mine.

MR.Seyed Mavujeen, Sr. Compliance Executive for Corel India its not a fake I already validate with Mr. Sathish Venugopal (sathish.venugopal@corel.com) country head Asia- pacific if you are using piracy they definitely call you Trial versions are not applicable for commercial purpose in the organization. Also uninstalling the software is not a solution to the concerns raised, as per the Copyright Act installing an infringed copies of the software as per Section 63B is entitled to penalties & damages.

I received the same calls and emails from one of the representatives Anita Koli. I am not using their CorelDRAW then how can she accuse me that I have been using 6 instances and forcing me to purchase 6 licenses! This is seriously shaming on COREL! I have attached the screenshots of the email from Anita Didi.

 I received similar calls and emails from Corel India. Anita Koli says that I'm using CorelDRAW illegally on 6 instances. But I'm not using any CorelDRAW.  Here's the email that I received. This is the way to extort money from people by COREL, I guess.

Same here, I verified this with Sathish Venugopal, and he says this is a legit wing of Corel. However, I have never downloaded or used Corel. Seems like the company is finding new ways to make money.

I received this call too from Deepak Shetty. The website corelindia.co.in looks fake (browser titles being the same for all pages) and corel.com would use corel.co.in rather than corelindia.co.in. 

The logos used are different too. I am surprised corel.com allows this scam to continue.

Same issue with Me.. I havent used corel softwares at all and got a call once in 2021 they made me sign a declaration and nobody called me after that for a while. Today they called me again And when we ask them to share the logs if they already have it, they threatened saying we will send it only with a legal notice cos its infringement of privacy! Just new ways to intimidate people to buy the software. Sad how such a big company has lost all its morals and standards.
