Dear Sir,

This is to inform that few days back I received a call from a mobile no 9717670667 person named Mr Vishal Chowdhary which I could identify from Truecaller.

The calling person identified himself from HDFC Insurance and informed  me that I have a insurance policy name  HDFC  Classic Assured Plus No 10085328, issue date 23-03-2010, Application form No S000024673217.

For this I had deposited the first premium of Rs 40000/ of which the current value had grown to Rs 108000/ approx. ( These figures and calculation were quoted by the so called Insurance person )

Since after that I had not deposited the premium hence the policy has become dormant and I am loosing my money. Further he advised me to deposit premium for 4 more years after which the policy will be active and I can withdraw money.. ( This advice cum guidance was also given by the insurance person )

On showing my ignorance he was advising me to take the phone No. of his Zonal Officer who will guide me the procedure to deposit the due premium and also he can wave the penalty.

I immediately suspected this call to be dubious and person not genuine and refused to entertain him further and disconnected the phone. Later I decided to inform the matter to the concerned department and call him back to take the details of his so called zonal officer. But somehow either they did not transferred the call or did not provided me the details.

Later on enquiring this policy No. with the HDFC I came to know that this policy is owned by some lady in Rajasthan and the same policy has been declined by the company.

This made me suspicious and I decided to report this matter to the concerned department.

My reason to report this matter is to make thorough investigation and if at all the person or the group is fraud and are cheating people then action should be taken and must be stopped so as to avoid them from cheating innocent people .

Also if at all this call was genuine and its my mistake the I apologise for the sam

Thanks

Dear Mr. Rajesh Nayer,

Thank you for putting the notification on website.  Just now i received a call from land line no. +91 120 3037944.  The caller advised me that I had a lapsed policy bearing the same no. as mentioned in your mail i.e. 10085328 dtd. 23/3/2010 of Classic Assure Plus of HHDFC booked through IIFL for Rs. 25,000/ which has matured to Rs. 63,000/- and if i want to claim it, i should deposit another Rs. 63,000/-.

On checking up his identity and location, so that i can personally come and meet him, he disconnected the telephone.

I think somebody should take notice of our mails and take corrective action and catch these people who are fraud and taking the unsuspecting citizen for a ride.

Thanks

S P Mathur

Dear Rajesh Ji and SP Mathur Ji,

I received similar call today from a mobile no 9958393517 person named Tanvi Sharma.

The person said that she is from HDFC Insurance and informed  me that I have a insurance policy name  HDFC Classic Assured 7/10 purchased on date 23-03-2010, Application form No S000024673217. According to her I purchased this for Rs 50000/ and didnt pay after that. The current value of this is Rs 108450.40.

She said that because I have to deposited premium, the policy has come for closure. To revive the Policy and get the benefit, I have to deposit the premium for 4 more years to make the policy else I will lose my initial deposit of 50K .

When I asked her to send me all this to my phone, she did send an sms and also asked to call Mr Sajay Singhaniya - 9319151946 (he don't pick the phone)

I suspected that this is some kind of cheating hence searched on internet. To My surprise the same details (date, policy no, policy name is same) had been reported by Rajesh Ji and also SP Mathur ji. Wondering if reporting here is helping as even after a year they are still calling people with same data.

I also reported here so that few others may be benefited like me. Thanks to both of you for reporting.

Thanks again
