I have been searching for children's book illustrators near me assuming it would be easier to work with someone local, but the more I look the more I am wondering if I am limiting myself unnecessarily since most of this work seems to happen remotely anyway. A writer I know used Self Publishing Book UK even though the illustrator was not based anywhere near her and said the process felt just as personal and collaborative as working with someone in person
