What You Need All you need is the Spyfall app installed on smartphones, tablets, or computers. The app manages locations, role distribution, timer, and scoring automatically. No physical cards are required when using the digital version.
Game Setup
- Choose one player to host and start a new game in the app.
- Select the number of participants.
- The app randomly assigns roles: all non-Spy players receive the same secret location (such as a submarine, a circus, or a museum), while exactly one player becomes the Spy and sees only the word “Spy.”
- A time limit for the round is set (typically 5 to 8 minutes depending on group size).

How to Win a Round
- If the group correctly identifies and votes out the Spy, the non-Spy players win the round.
- If the Spy avoids detection or the group votes for the wrong person, the Spy wins the round.
- If the Spy correctly guesses the secret location, they score a strong victory even if accused.
Scoring System Points are awarded at the end of each round:
- Non-Spy players earn points for successfully catching the Spy (with a bonus for the player who initiated the correct accusation).
