📄 Complaint Description:

I, Reetika Singh, working as a Legal Advisor, Director & Founder of Pro Consultancy BV, Netherlands, am filing this complaint regarding a serious case of online identity misuse, harassment, and public safety risk involving a fraudulent listing on Justdial.

My family resides in Maunath Bhanjan (PIN: 275101), Uttar Pradesh.

An unknown person has deliberately created a false listing on Justdial, wrongly showing our private residential address as a nightclub/dance bar, and has also published my mother’s personal mobile number without consent.

📌 Nature of Harm and Threat:

This false listing has resulted in serious ongoing harm:

  • My mother is receiving continuous unwanted and explicit phone calls, including at night
  • She is facing severe mental distress and harassment
  • Our private residence has been publicly misrepresented as a commercial nightlife establishment
  • There is a real risk of strangers attempting to visit our home based on false information

This situation is ongoing and directly affects the safety, dignity, and mental well-being of a woman and our family.

⚠️ Concern Regarding Platform Misuse:

Justdial is being misused as a platform due to inadequate verification and listing controls, including:

  • Lack of proper verification of ownership before publishing listings
  • Insufficient checks for residential address misuse
  • Allowing anonymous individuals to publish sensitive and misleading information

This has enabled the creation and continued availability of a listing that is causing active harm.

At the same time, I respectfully submit that no intermediary platform should be allowed to escape responsibility where its system enables or fails to prevent such misuse after being notified, and appropriate action should be taken in accordance with law if negligence is established.

📌 Requested Action:

I respectfully request the following urgent actions:

  1. Registration of an FIR against unknown person(s) responsible for creating this fraudulent listing
  2. Immediate investigation to identify the individual behind this act
  3. Direction to Justdial to:
    • Preserve all relevant digital evidence (account details, IP logs, phone/email used, timestamps)
    • Share such information with cyber crime authorities for investigation
  4. Immediate removal and permanent blocking of the fraudulent listing to prevent further harm
  5. Appropriate action as per law against any party found responsible for negligence in preventing or allowing such misuse
