I started playing Block Blast thinking it would be one of those easy, mindless browser games. You know the type: drag a block, clear a line, feel mildly productive, repeat. I honestly expected to breeze through a couple rounds and move on.

Then the board started filling up.

At first, the game feels pretty chill. You get a set of block shapes, and you drag them onto the board wherever they fit. Clearing stuff is satisfying too—when you complete a full horizontal row or a vertical column, those cells pop away and everything instantly feels less cramped. The catch is that the board never stays “fresh” for long. Even when you clear something, the next piece might not cooperate, and suddenly you’re thinking about empty space like it’s a life choice.
